Vinyl windows are the most common windows in the US, accounting for about 70% of all window installations.

Cons:
- May not meet certain city requirements for historical homes
- Interior colors are limited to white, black or tan
- Limited size and configurations
Wood Windows
We offer two types of wood windows:
Wood Craftsman: Locally made using the same traditional techniques and materials with modern production machinery.
Pros:
- Intended for replacement in historical homes to match the same design and function as the original windows and doors
- Tight grain and old growth wood can last centuries if properly maintained
- Locally manufactured in small scale production with the ability to customize design, function and colors of interior and exterior
Cons:
- Higher cost than vinyl or aluminum
- Required maintenance to ensure the wood is properly painted and/or stained
- Intended for replacement in older homes that originally had wood windows, not for homes that originally had vinyl or aluminum windows
Wood Windows and Doors with Exterior Cladding: Interior wood frames with an exterior vinyl, fiberglass or aluminum cladding.
Pros:
- Less maintenance than Wood Craftsman. Can be installed in historical or newer homes.
- Offer a variety of exterior colors with either a painted interior finish or sealed finish which can be stained
- NFRC and Title 24 compliant as well as some other modern advancements over Wood Craftsman
Cons:
- Higher cost than vinyl or aluminum
- Long lead times (3-9 months)
- Quality of wood is not as good as Wood Craftsman
Aluminum Windows
Aluminum windows and doors were widely used in the 1960's-90's. They have recently had a resurgence.
Pros:
- Slim profile for a minimalist design
- Durable with low maintenance
- Ability for large configurations
Cons:
- Higher cost than vinyl
- Limited configurations
- May not meet Title 24 thermal efficiency requirements
